The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room while ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Position Details Unit Type: Cardio OR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) Shift Length: 12 hours Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years Orientation: 1 week Shift Schedule Standard Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM Call Requirements: One weekday per week; one weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) in rotation with staff Response Time for Call: 30 minutes Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care in the CVOR, focusing on open heart surgeries and endovascular procedures. Scrub into surgical procedures to assist in holding the heart and closing the chest as needed. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure quality care and patient safety. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Participate in unit orientation and ongoing educational activities. Qualifications Required Certifications: BLS (AHA); ACLS preferred Experience: Open heart and/or endovascular experience is essential. Floating Requirements: May require floating to General OR on an as-needed basis. Unit Information Number of Suites: 16 (3 CVOR) Average Number of Cases per Day: 30 (includes 1-2 heart surgeries daily) Scrub Color: Light blue scrubs provided by the hospital Location This position is located in a city within the region that offers a supportive and collaborative work environment for healthcare professionals.
