About the role
Specializes in providing critical care to patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor critically ill patients
- Operate life-support equipment and administer advanced treatments
- Document patient conditions and collaborate with healthcare teams
- Provide patient and family education
- Ensure safety and adhere to infection control and regulatory standards
- Maintain proficiency in critical care procedures
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Respond promptly to patient needs
- Recognize subtle changes in patient status
- Manage complex medication regimens
- Operate advanced life support devices
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring
- Record detailed patient assessments
- Ensure high standards of care in high-acuity settings
Requirements
- Valid RN license
- Minimum one year of CVICU experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Preferred certifications: CCRN, TNCC, NIHSS
- Demonstrated critical thinking and effective communication skills
- Physical and technical abilities to perform required duties
- Resilience under pressure
