Travel CVICU RN - $3,423 per week

About the role

Travel nurse RN CVICU position in Saint Louis, Missouri. Start date 10/26/2026, 13‑week assignment. Employment type: travel.

Responsibilities

Provide care in a 22‑bed CVICU with a 1:2 patient ratio. Manage patients including sepsis, respiratory conditions (pneumonia, COVID, ARDS), post‑cardiac arrest, GI bleed, DKA, PE, renal failure, liver failure, pancreatitis, overdose, suicidal ideations, CIWA, etc. Operate and monitor equipment such as Impella, IABP, Prismax CRRT, Zoll internal cooling device, Arctic Sun. Document in EPIC EMR.

Requirements

• Current RN license eligible for or already licensed in Missouri.
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only, NIHSS.
• Preferred certification: TNCC.
• Minimum 3 years of Cardiac and/or Medical ICU experience, with direct experience recovering open hearts from the OR.
• May be floated to other stepdown units based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Must have: 3 years Cardiac Medical ICU, inpatient only.
• Preferred: experience with medical ICU patients, cardiac emphasis (arrhythmias, STEMI, post arrest).

Skills

• Strong cardiac ICU skills, including management of Impella, IABP, CRRT, cooling devices.
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR.
• Ability to work nights (1900‑0730) 12‑hour shifts.

Schedule

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours (1900‑0730).
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 – must be indicated on submission form.
• Weekend hours: as required by facility, every other weekend.
• Call requirements: none.
• Assignment length: 13 weeks.
• Blocked scheduling (no specific days) may be approved per facility requirements – must be listed on submission form.
• RTO of 5 days or less requires making up the week on the back end; holiday RTO limited to 1 per assignment.
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; traveler must be available the entire week for orientation.
