Travel CVICU RN - $2,139 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse for a travel nursing assignment in Seattle, Washington. The position is a 13‑week travel contract requiring 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. The ideal candidate will have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience and be prepared to work with a multidisciplinary team caring for patients after open‑heart surgery and heart transplants.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients with potentially life‑threatening heart conditions.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications.
• Take samples for diagnostic tests; order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy and IV protocols.
• Be called in for emergencies to provide CPR and operate defibrillators hospital‑wide.
• Educate patients and family members on how to manage recovery at home.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment

Qualifications

• Experience and skill caring for patients in a fast‑paced, urgent, critical care environment (CVICU)
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to lift 20 lb routinely; patient handling may require up to 50 lb
• Strong stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
