About the role
The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide high-level care in a specialized environment focusing on cardiothoracic surgery patients. This role requires expertise in critical care nursing, especially for patients undergoing open-heart procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage direct fresh open-heart admissions from the Operating Room.
- Perform pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz management.
- Monitor patients with Impella devices and manage CRRT.
- Administer cardiac care and monitor patient responses.
- Provide care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for comprehensive patient management.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in critical care or surgical settings.
- Experience with direct open-heart surgery admission is mandatory.
- Certifications Required: ACLS, BCLS, NIH.
- RN License required; West Virginia or compact license acceptable.
Schedule
Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00), including weekdays and weekends.
