About the role
Looking for highly motivated critical care nurses that thrive in a very fast-paced, high acuity critical care department. We provide care to some of the most critically ill patients in the Nashville area and frequently receive patients needing our care from all corners of Tennessee and beyond. Though we serve patients with a variety of diagnoses, our biggest service lines are cardiothoracic surgery (open heart recovery) and neuro/neurosurgery. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our team has also been called on to provide ICU-level care for patients suffering from COVID-19 infection all the way up to extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 15-bed CVICU unit serving adolescents through late adults (14 - 60+)
- Manage patients with diagnoses including cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, post cardiopulmonary arrest, and post ventricular assist device placement
- Maintain a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test
