Travel assignment for a CT Technologist in Rochester, New York.

About the role

The CT Technologist performs diagnostic CT imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, accurate documentation, and high-quality imaging. The technologist works closely with physicians and the healthcare team to provide timely and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient identity, exam orders, and safety requirements before each procedure.
  • Prepare and educate patients regarding CT procedures and ensure their comfort and safety.
  • Perform CT scans and properly position patients, using safe patient-handling techniques when needed.
  • Insert IVs and administer contrast when required and within scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to support diagnostic imaging needs.
  • Document exams accurately in EPIC, including identifying images and ensuring images are properly transferred to PACS.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized CT scanning environment.
  • Follow department policies, radiation safety standards, and patient-care protocols.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • NYS CT Technologist license required prior to start.
  • 2+ years of CT Technologist experience.
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required.
  • Siemens scanner experience – 6+ months.
  • BLS – American Heart Association (AHA) only.
  • Telemetry experience/knowledge required.
  • NYS-registered HCPs must have injection therapy certification documented on their license at the time of submission.
  • Must be able to work the weekend overnight schedule and fulfill call requirements (2–3 call shifts/month).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Injection certification, or willingness to complete certification during orientation.
  • Experience with Philips equipment.
  • Experience with Siemens equipment.
  • EPIC experience – 1+ year, preferably within the same specialty/area during the past year.

Schedule

  • Duration: 19 weeks
  • 36 hours per week
  • Shift: 12 hours, nights (Friday–Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
  • Call: 2–3 call shifts/month
  • Holidays: Per unit needs
