Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech) Job Description
The Computed Tomography Technologist independently performs imaging procedures in a dynamic healthcare environment. This position requires a strong understanding of CT protocols and the ability to apply independent judgment and technical skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Independently perform computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration.
  • Adjust protocols based on patient needs while applying prescribed ionizing radiation accurately for diagnostic purposes.
  • Utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data.
  • Demonstrate proper venipuncture techniques and utilize power injectors according to departmental protocols.
  • Administer PO, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders and assess patients for potential risk factors prior to contrast media administration.
  • Communicate effectively with both patients and co-workers, providing support and information to ease patient concerns.
  • Ensure proper patient identification using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol during procedures.
  • Document patient histories in electronic records as needed and ensure exams are coded, tracked, and charged correctly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
  • CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was obtained or date of hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
  • Licenses & Certifications: ARRT Certificate, Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pennsylvania Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73.

Schedule

This position operates on a Day Shift schedule, working 10 hours per day across 4 days a week.

Pay & Benefits

Pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
