About the role

Access Healthcare is seeking a travel CT Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Boston, Massachusetts. The position requires 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, and evening work.

Responsibilities

  • Operates CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images and information according to departmental protocol.
  • Selects proper imaging factors, and images the designated portion(s) of the body.
  • Explains exam to patient taking into consideration physical and emotional needs; maintains ethical standards (patient confidentiality, professional conduct, etc.).
  • Maintain effective working relations and communication with departmental and other hospital personnel.
  • Calibrate and verify the operation of all equipment to be used during the workday.
  • Execute paperwork and Radiology Information System functions as necessary for each patient exam.
  • Performs venipuncture for purposes of contrast administration under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-services, and maintains appropriate CEU's in accordance with Massachusetts State Licensure and A.R.R.T. (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) requirements.
  • May oversee and instruct various personnel and technology students (medical radiography, CT, nuclear medicine) within the department.
  • Prepare the equipment room and supplies necessary for each patient and regular daily use.
  • To acknowledge and participate in research programs, quality assurance and quality improvement projects carried on in the department.
  • To assume responsibilities for on-call coverage and to remain flexible in all shift coverage and overtime situations as necessary.
  • Rotates within department, divisions and all off-site clinics, by shifts as required and needed; cooperates with all personnel, promoting harmony within department.
  • Transport and transfer patients using established procedures according to departmental guidelines.
  • Uses independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative under pressure in a variety of situations when performing patient exams.
  • Performs all other duties as directed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic technology.
  • Possess a current Massachusetts State Radiologic and CT Technologist license and be registered in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years' experience as a Radiologic technologist preferred with at least one year in CT.
  • Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and / or emotional stress.
  • Must possess analytical abilities necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, and procedures and cross-sectional anatomy.

Benefits

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
