About the role
The CT Technologist position is based in a healthcare facility environment. This role involves performing a variety of computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. The position demands professional judgment, technical proficiency, and adherence to safety protocols to deliver high-quality imaging services.
Schedule
- Rotating shift; 12-hour days/evenings, Thursday through Saturday, with weekend shifts
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of CT procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes
- Instruct students and other technologists in exam protocols and equipment operation
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety standards and infection control protocols
- Provide patient education and comfort during procedures
- Maintain accurate records of patient procedures and any adverse reactions
- Manipulate electronic images and respond to emergent patient situations
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with technological advancements
Requirements
- Certifications: ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT)
- Education: Associate degree or higher in radiologic sciences
- Licensure: Valid state licensure as applicable
- Experience: Minimum of 0 years required; 1-2 years of CT and acute care experience preferred
- Certification: BLS (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT (R)(CT) certification
- Fluoroscopy certification for caregivers hired in the State of Colorado
- Additional experience in a hospital environment
Skills
- Understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency
- Proficiency in operating CT equipment, including imaging techniques and protocols
- Knowledge of contrast media administration and injector operation
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain a safe, clean environment
