About the role
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with ARRT certification and a minimum of 2 years of CT experience for a 13-week night shift contract in Charlotte, NC. This position is in an acute care hospital setting with 373 licensed beds, TJC Stroke accredited, and no trauma designation.
The CT department offers CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine with Radiology Nursing support. The patient population includes ED, inpatient, observation, and outpatient cases. The department performs CT-guided invasive procedures and cases with Anesthesia as needed.
The department averages 160 studies per weekday and 120 studies on weekends, utilizing 3 CT scanners: Siemens Definition AS 40, Siemens Force, and Siemens Edge. Bayer/Medrad Power Injectors are used for contrast administration.
EMR: Epic; RIS: Epic Radiant; PACS: Philips iSite.
Schedule
- 4x10 hour night shifts, Monday–Thursday, 9:00 PM–7:30 AM
- 40 hours per week

- No floating required
- On-call requirements apply
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
Responsibilities
- Perform CT studies, including venous and arterial phase scanning, multi-phase scanning, stroke imaging including Perfusion, and colorectal studies
- Start peripheral IVs
- Work with a patient population that includes ED, inpatient, observation, and outpatient cases
- Assist with CT-guided invasive procedures and cases requiring Anesthesia
Requirements
- ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology with advanced registry in CT required
- Active license required if applicable
- BLS required
- Minimum of 2 years of CT experience required
- Proficiency in starting peripheral IVs
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

- Departmental orientation consists of 1 day of administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review) followed by 2 days to 1 week of departmental orientation, including weekdays regardless of assigned shift
- A clinical interview with the manager is required as part of the hiring process
- TeraRecon experience is preferred but not required
- Guest Services and Transport are available to support patient movement for inpatient and observation patients
