Travel CT Technologist - $2,812 per week

Travel position in John Day, Oregon. Specialty: CT Technologist. Discipline: Allied Health Professional. Start date: ASAP. Duration: 13 weeks. 36 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform exams from start to finish:
  • Register/check-in patient, verify authorizations and medical necessity.
  • Confirm order accuracy and authorization.
  • Ensure lab orders/results are available within 30 days for CT and MRI exams with contrast.
  • Call and schedule patients according to department protocol.
  • Enter correct demographics and order into the RIS.
  • Perform exam according to physician order and department protocol.
  • Document appropriately and make exam available to radiologists via PACS.
  • Complete exam within the hospital EHR.
• Maintain infection control:
  • Clean after every patient.
  • Practice good hand hygiene.
  • Wipe down high-touch surfaces.
  • Wear proper PPE.
• On-call duties:
  • May be assigned on-call standby shifts, including weeknights and weekends.
• Meet, maintain, and exceed department competencies:
  • Demonstrate competency per modality via checklist.
  • Demonstrate competency in IV starts.
  • Scheduling and using PACS.
• Critical thinking and decision-making:
  • Seek resources for direction when necessary.
  • Perform independent problem-solving.
  • Make logical and deliberate decisions.
  • Demonstrate accountability and safe judgment.
  • Practice within legal and ethical guidelines.
• Adhere to safety standards and policies for patients and equipment at all times.
• Handle confidential information according to HIPAA regulations.
• Train in other modalities and/or assist with training as requested.
• Use appropriate technical factors (kVp, mA, time, distance, grids, cassettes, positioning, and collimation).
• Practice ALARA and good sterile techniques.
• Perform computed tomography exams with and/or without power contrast injection per physician order.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, healthcare professionals, patients, families, and the public.
• Use AIDET according to BMHD policy.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience preferred.
• ARRT (R) (CT) certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Oregon state license required.
• Physical demands:
  • Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to maneuver patients on the table to obtain proper images.
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Basic computer skills.

• EMD’s & PACS: Sectra DR Carestream.
• Toshiba Kalare X-ray.
• Portable AMX4 with Carestream DR.
