About the role

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist will independently perform imaging procedures, utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration. This role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform computed tomography procedures according to established protocols.
  • Utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data.
  • Demonstrate proper technique in venipuncture and utilize power injectors adhering to department and manufacturer protocols.
  • Absorb and administer PO, rectal, and IV contrast based on physician orders and assess patients for potential risk factors.
  • Interact effectively with patients and co-workers while displaying a high level of caring and respect.
  • Communicate instructions and explain procedures clearly to patients to alleviate fears and enhance cooperation.
  • Identify patients accurately using two patient identifiers and adhere to universal protocol during procedures.
  • Document patient history and ensure all exams are coded, tracked, and properly networked for archiving.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with system-wide competencies.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
  • CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the initial registry acquisition.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
  • ARRT Certification and Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) are required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in operating complex imaging equipment.
  • Experience with contrast administration and patient assessment.

Pay

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

Rotating shift, 10 hours per day, 4 days per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
