Job Summary

The CT (Computed Tomography) Technologist position is based in the healthcare facility. This role involves performing complex CT procedures, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation, and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures. The technologist ensures patient safety and prepares, screens, and reviews imaging requests and clinical history to optimize exam quality.

Job Details

  • Perform complex CT procedures utilizing expertise in anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning.
  • Use professional judgment to review and document patient's clinical history and scan information into PACS system.
  • Prepare, review, and verify patient contrast questionnaires, and identify and administer contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Review exam prescriptions for accuracy and communicate with Radiologists or referring physicians to clarify or obtain additional information.
  • Verify insurance-approved exam scripts and assist with exam scheduling by obtaining outside studies and ensuring reports are accessible.
  • Provide copies of exams to patients and requesting physicians.
  • Evaluate radiographs within PACS to ensure accurate identification and diagnostic quality.
  • Gather relevant information to prepare scanning protocols, ensuring patient safety and proper preparation, including shielding and immobilization.
  • Determine appropriate contrast type and dosage, providing clear instructions to patients and addressing questions.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV maintenance, and monitor patients for adverse reactions during procedures.
  • Adhere to scheduled shifts, including holidays, weekends, and on-call as needed, with overtime as necessary.
  • Follow hospital policies on employee conduct, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs., and stand for at least 6 hours daily.
  • Modify patient care based on age, culture, language, or impairments, communicating at appropriate levels with patients and caregivers.
  • Maintain Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits and achieve ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (CT) certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Maintain BLS (Basic Life Support) certification within three months of employment.

Pay

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

Schedule includes nights from 07:00 PM to 07:00 AM, working 36 hours per week, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
