Requirements

• Eighteen months prior experience in a health care setting as a CT Technologist
• Must be ARRT (CT) or ASRT certified
• Most states require licensure
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment to produce cross‑sectional images of patients' bones, organs and tissue for diagnosis
• Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary
• Set equipment controls, monitor equipment and patient, make adjustments as needed
• Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, start IVs, inject contrast if applicable
• Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans
• Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures
• Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure, label appropriately
• Schedule patients for procedures and assist with some clerical functions
• Charge procedures and supplies used to the patient record
• Load and operate power injections for contrast media administration
• Deliver quality, cost‑effective patient care in a professional manner
• Maintain an environment of excellence focused on timely, compassionate, quality patient care
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment incorporating national patient safety initiatives
