This role involves performing CT procedures and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. The technologist operates a CT scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of various patient pathologies, ensuring high-quality image standards. Essential Job Functions Perform CT exams and procedures for various departments as requested by the medical staff. Assist the Radiologist and other medical staff during exams and procedures. Complete documentation in designated areas for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams. Participate in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of quality indicators as described in the strategic plan. Work independently in a complex, acute care inpatient setting. Train and support peers as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times. Exercises tact, discretion, and sensitivity while maintaining confidentiality. Performs essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment. Adapts to current and new computer applications and office equipment. Exhibits strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work while meeting multiple deadlines. Works varied shifts and participates in call rotation as scheduled. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds of weight. Extended periods of sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily may be required. Flexibility to work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. Emotional and Environmental Exposures Tasks may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, various chemicals, and infectious diseases. May encounter emotionally challenging situations, requiring effective de-escalation and communication skills.
