About the role
The CT Tech will independently perform imaging procedures, competently executing a variety of technical tasks that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative while applying prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities
- Perform computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration.
- Adjust protocols as necessary based on independent judgment to ensure optimal diagnostic results.
- Utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data.
- Demonstrate proper technique in venipuncture and ensure appropriate use of power injectors according to set protocols.
- Administer PO, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders and assess patients for potential risk factors prior to administration.
- Interact compassionately with patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect.
- Communicate instructions to patients clearly and concisely to help alleviate their fears and encourage cooperation during procedures.
- Identify all patients properly using two patient identifiers and utilize universal protocols during procedures.
- Document patient history in electronic records as required and ensure proper coding of exams.
- Complete all charges accurately for exams performed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
- CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was obtained or date of hire if the primary registry is already obtained.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
- ARRT Certificate and Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) are required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Schedule
This position operates on a rotating shift of 8 hours per day, 5 days a week.
