About the role
This is a travel position with the following details:
- Start Date: 08/31/2026
- Duration: 18 weeks (with potential extension through 01/02/2027)
- 40 hours per week, 10-hour day shifts (4x10s, Wednesday–Saturday, 08:30–19:00)
- No call required
- Employment Type: Travel
Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of CT procedures, including:
- 3D rendering (Maximum intensity projection, Surface shaded displays, Volume rendering)
- Abdomen without and/or with contrast
- Adult Acute Care and Adult Outpatient
- Aspirations and Biopsies
- Brain perfusion
- Carotid, Cervical, Chest without and/or with contrast
- Colonography or virtual Colonography
- Colorectal studies (rectal contrast)
- Coronary CTA
- Emergency Department
- Enterography study
- Head without and/or with contrast
- Heart (e.g., calcium scoring, coronary angiography)
- ICU
- Intravenous pyelogram
- Isolation Precautions/PPE
- Level I and Level II Trauma
- Lumbar
- Multiplanar reconstruction (MRP)
- Musculoskeletal trauma
- PACS
- Pediatric Acute Care and Pediatric Outpatient
- Pelvis without and/or with contrast
- Preparation and/or administration of contrast media
- Radiation Safety
- Region of interest measurement (ROI)
- Siemens equipment
- Sinuses and Soft tissue neck
- Starting Peripheral IV's
- Thoracic
- Trauma head
- Vascular chest (e.g., pulmonary embolism, CTA, aorta)
- Vascular CTA
- Venipuncture
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a CT Technologist
- ARRT (CT and R) certification
- BLS certification
- Virginia state license (can submit with pending license)
- Epic charting system experience (required)
- Experience in a Level I Trauma center (required)
- Level II Trauma center experience (preferred)
- Community hospital experience (preferred)
- LTAC experience (preferred)
- Travel experience (not required but beneficial)
Facility & Patient Care Details
- Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
- Facility Size: 681 beds
- Orientation Hours: 80 (up to 16 non-billable)
- Interdisciplinary Support: IV Teams, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, Transportation
- Patient Ratios: Days – 17 patients, Nights – 3 patients, Weekends – 4 patients
Policies & Compliance
- Floating: Required within scope of practice
- 50-mile radius rule for local candidates (not accepted for this unit)
- Maximum 40 hours Return Time Off (RTO) per 13-week contract
- Pre-Start Time Off: Must disclose any vacation between sign date and start date
- State License: Must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date
- Nursys Verification: Required with submission
- References: Required
- Background Check: Notify Client Delivery Manager of any known issues
- Previous UVA Employment: 1-year separation required for permanent staff/internal travelers; external travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
- Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
Pay
- Base Bill Rate: $93/hour
- Overtime: $48/hour
- Charge Nurse Differential: $3/hour
- On Call: $5/hour
- Call Back Multiplier: 1x
- Holiday Pay: $10/hour
- Non-Billable Orientation: 16 hours
