About the role
Multimodality technologist providing quality imaging and patient care within X-Ray and CT. Responsibilities include explaining procedures to patients, ensuring competency in performed procedures, and producing images for licensed practitioner interpretation or request.
Shift: 3×12s (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with every 3rd weekend required. No on-call requirement. Possible floating to like units to meet facility needs.
Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
Radius rule: 60 miles. Locals accepted on a case-by-case basis at 10% less than the posted bill rate. All requested time off (RTO) must be included at submission; approval is based on manager/unit needs.
Hurricane Season: Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November), with peak activity in August and September.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT and X-Ray imaging procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
- Explain procedures to patients and ensure their understanding and comfort.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images for licensed practitioner interpretation.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain competency in both modalities.
- Float to like units as needed to meet facility demands.
- Work assigned shifts, including every 3rd weekend.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist (first-time travelers not accepted).
- Registered in both Radiography (ARRT) (R) and Computed Tomography (ARRT) (C).
- Current SCRQSA, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
- Experience highly preferred in: Emergency, Trauma, Pediatrics, Orthopedic exams (both modalities), Siemens equipment, EPIC, and PACS.
- Agency must provide radiation badges (facility does not supply them for travelers).
