About the Role
The CT Technologist operates computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, ensuring proper imaging protocols, collaborating with radiologists, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure.
Responsibilities
- Operate CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue for diagnostic purposes.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain the imaging process, and position patients appropriately.
- Set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology.
- Provide high-quality images to Radiologists for interpretation.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately in the hospital’s system.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services.
- Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various healthcare facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice.
Requirements
- One year of recent experience as a CT Technologist.
- Valid Radiology license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
Preferred Qualifications
- Current ARRT Certification.
- Additional certifications and licenses may be required.

- Physical Abilities: Must be able to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.

- Technical/Motor Skills: Ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, and assist with procedures using department equipment.
- Mental Requirements: Ability to cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision or independently, and handle irregular activity schedules.
- Sensory: Must possess visual acuity and effective communication skills.
