About the role
American Traveler is seeking a travel CT Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Charleston, South Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 2-room CT unit within a hospital emergency department setting
- Average daily census of 20 patients across 12 beds
- Patient ratio of 1:1
- Procedures include abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, sinuses, soft tissue neck, vascular chest (PE, CTA, aorta), carotid, IVP, colorectal studies, cervical/lumbar/MSK trauma, ROI measurements, and contrast preparation/administration
- Preferred experience includes pediatric acute/outpatient care, enterography, cardiac CT (calcium scoring, coronary angiography), trauma head, biopsies, aspirations, CT arthrography, drainage, myelography, and vascular CTA
- 3x12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Call and float requirements apply
- No weekend requirement
- Epic EMR experience required; Omnicell also in use
- Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a different pay rate
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of CT technologist experience
- Active ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications required
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
- South Carolina license required if applicable
- Proficiency with Siemens CT equipment
- Skilled in peripheral IV starts, venipuncture, radiation safety, and contrast media administration
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years required prior to start (pending at time of consideration is acceptable)
Qualifications
- Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a different pay rate
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Orientation consists of 10 hours scheduled on Monday and Tuesday; missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start
- 8–10 hours of pre-start online modules are required and must be completed annually
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- RTO is not permitted during the first week of assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday, and anything beyond 7 days requires facility approval
- No RTO is permitted after booking and cannot be worked out onsite — call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation and DNR
- Previous permanent, PRN, or EP staff employees of this health system must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
- Travel pairs are allowed but must have their own transportation and be comfortable with different schedules

Pay
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
