About the role
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 2+ years of recent acute-care CT experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Bountiful, UT. The CT Scan unit is located on the 1st floor of a 125-bed hospital and is staffed by approximately 7 team members. Equipment includes GE Optima CT660S GT2000 and Revo EVO 3.6B. The EMR/documentation system is Meditech with PACS/RIS.
Schedule
- Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 36 hours per week (3x12hr shifts)
- Start Date: August 31, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Rotating weekend shifts required
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergent CT examinations per facility protocols, including head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, and extremities
- Conduct trauma studies, stroke imaging, CTA head/neck, and CTA chest for pulmonary embolism or dissection
- Perform renal-stone studies, contrast-enhanced examinations, and scheduled outpatient studies
- Provide routine diagnostic and portable radiography for ED, inpatient, and scheduled patients, including chest, abdomen, orthopedic, and trauma imaging
- Perform bedside exams, fluoroscopy, and C-arm support during surgical procedures
- Work well with minimal supervision in a calm, adaptable, and service-oriented manner
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing, surgery staff, and patients
- Willingness to transition between CT, ED, general radiology, and OR assignments as patient-care priorities change
- Potential to float to the Operating Room
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute-care CT experience required
- Ability to work independently upon completion of orientation
- Proficiency with ED/trauma patients, STAT exams, stroke and angiography protocols required
- Experience with IV starts, oral/IV contrast screening and administration, and power injectors required
- Skilled in patient monitoring, safe positioning, and PACS/RIS documentation
- Current competency in both CT and general diagnostic radiography required, including routine X-ray, portable imaging, fluoroscopy, and C-arm imaging in the OR
- ARRT(R) and ARRT(CT) certification required
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider required
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program required
- License required if applicable
- Previous experience in a Level I, II, or III trauma hospital preferred
- Experience independently covering evenings, nights, weekends, or call preferred
- Experience managing acute or difficult-to-position patients preferred
- Experience with GE CT/X-ray equipment and Meditech preferred
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
- Scrubs required as dress code
