About the role

Operate computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Prepare and position patients, set technical parameters, and collaborate with radiologists to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Maintain equipment, adhere to radiation safety standards, and provide compassionate patient care throughout the imaging process.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue for diagnostic purposes
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explain the imaging process, and position patients appropriately
  • Set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
  • Provide high-quality images to Radiologist for interpretation
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment to ensure proper functionality
  • Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately in the hospital’s system
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services
  • Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various healthcare facilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice

Requirements

  • One year of recent experience as a CT Technologist
  • Valid Radiology license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Current ARRT Certification (preferred)
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Proficiency in reading/comprehending written instructions, following verbal instructions, and PC skills
  • Physical ability to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Ability to work effectively with various personnel while maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/motor skills to grasp, perform fine manipulation, and assist with procedures
  • Mental resilience to cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and work with occasional close supervision or independently
  • Ability to handle irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration on detail
  • Visual acuity and effective communication skills

Schedule

  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • 36 hours per week
  • Shift: 12 hours, days
