Travel CT Technologist position in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Specialty: CT Technologist, Discipline: Allied Health Professional. Start Date: ASAP, Duration: 13 weeks, 40 hours per week, 10-hour evening shifts.

About the Role

St. Luke's Hospital offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus and a CareerLaunch Stipend Program for new graduates. The CT Technologist is responsible for working within the established guidelines of Imaging Services, supporting the mission and vision of St. Luke's Hospital. This role involves technical performance of radiology procedures, problem-solving, and implementing constructive change.

Responsibilities

  • Performs careful and accurate work in assigned technical areas, adhering to procedural exam guidelines and turnaround times.
  • Supports and performs CT exams within the guidelines of the Imaging Gently Campaign.
  • Administers contrast agents according to procedure guidelines, using power injectors with correct flow rates.
  • Documents all necessary information for technical procedures, including patient history and quality control.
  • Follows protocol for patient identification, exam procedures, image marking, and labeling; documents pregnancy status for females of childbearing age.
  • Uses AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You) in every patient interaction.
  • Performs patient transfers using approved mobility equipment when appropriate.
  • Assists in maintaining a high-quality radiologic science program, including student clinical and didactic instruction.
  • Maintains compliance with voluntary and government agency standards (e.g., IDPH, ACR, TJC).
  • Adheres to safety practices (ALARA) to minimize radiation exposure and wears an issued radiation badge.
  • Makes independent decisions based on departmental policies and procedures.
  • Promotes departmental goals, maintains productivity, and communicates effectively with managers and healthcare professionals.
  • Prioritizes work, assists colleagues, and maintains cleanliness of equipment and workspace.
  • Understands and supports the School of Radiology’s clinical competency system and student supervision requirements.

Requirements

  • Current permit issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
  • ARRT certification as a Radiographer.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Annual completion of CT and Fluoroscopic Safety education.
  • Clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
  • Appropriate training for the assigned modality.
  • Experience with computer systems is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with all customers and coworkers.
  • High integrity, confidentiality, and dependable performance.

Pay

Hourly Rate: $30.00 - $43.00
