About the Role

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment at a hospital-based Computed Tomography department in Billings, Montana. The role requires ARRT (R) certification and an Associate degree.

  • Work in the Computed Tomography department of a hospital setting
  • Variable 12-hour shifts (3x12hrs per week)
  • 36 hours per week across 3 days per week
  • Uses Epic for charting

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation
  • Perform exams per department protocol and review images for quality and accuracy
  • Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
  • Complete studies within department time expectations without compromising care or quality
  • Provide patient education and address patient or family concerns
  • Coordinate patient care and communicate pertinent information to other providers
  • Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures, and any adverse reactions
  • Administer contrast media under physician or radiologist supervision as ordered
  • Assist and instruct students and other radiology technologists in exam protocols and procedures
  • Maintain ARRT competency in all clinical and technical job functions

Requirements

  • Associate degree required
  • Current BLS and ARRT (R) certification required
  • Licensure in state of practice required, if applicable
  • 1+ year of CT experience in a hospital setting required
  • Proficiency in operating CT equipment, imaging techniques, and protocols
  • Knowledge of contrast administration protocols and contrast injector operation
  • Proficiency with electronic imaging, including image viewing, transfer, and manipulation
  • Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergent patient situations
  • Strong understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency

Permanent staff must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before eligibility for this travel assignment.
