Travel CT Technologist opportunity in Grand Junction, Colorado. This 13-week assignment offers a consistent 3×12 night-shift schedule in an acute-care hospital environment.
About the role
The CT Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic CT examinations using ionizing radiation while maintaining exceptional image quality, patient safety, and efficient workflow. The ideal traveler is confident working independently, understands CT protocols and sectional anatomy, and can provide compassionate patient care in an acute-care setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic CT examinations according to established protocols.
- Operate CT equipment and associated imaging/information systems.
- Verify patient identification, physician orders, and exam requirements.
- Prepare, position, and educate patients before and during examinations.
- Evaluate images for quality, clarity, accuracy, and adequate anatomical coverage.
- Apply radiation-safety principles and maintain a safe environment.
- Administer contrast media according to established protocols and physician/radiologist direction.
- Operate contrast injectors as applicable.
- Monitor patients for reactions or emergent situations and respond appropriately.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, procedures, contrast administration, and incidents.
- Follow infection-control and sterile-technique standards.
- Complete examinations efficiently without compromising patient care or image quality.
- Perform electronic image viewing, manipulation, and transfer.
- Follow medical-necessity, coding, charging, consent, and quality-control procedures.
- Identify and report equipment issues or failures.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with training and mentoring students or other radiology technologists when needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of CT technology, imaging techniques, and protocols through continuing education.
Requirements
- Associate degree.
- ARRT(R) certification.
- BLS – AHA certification.
- State licensure as applicable.
- Demonstrated competency in CT equipment operation and imaging techniques.
- Strong understanding of sectional anatomy, positioning, and anatomical terminology.
- Knowledge of CT protocols and contrast administration.
- Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergent patient situations.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT(R)(CT) certification.
- 1–2 years of CT experience.
- 1–2 years of acute-care/hospital experience.
- Colorado fluoroscopy certification, where applicable.
Schedule
- Shift: Nights (3 × 12-hour shifts).
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
- Weekend Requirement: Yes.
- Start Date: September 14, 2026.
- End Date: December 12, 2026.
- Contract Length: 13 weeks.
