About the Role
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. This position supports adult acute care, outpatient, ICU, and Emergency Department patients in the CT Scan department.
Shift details: 20:30-7:00, Monday-Thursday, with holiday rotation required. The role involves trauma head, musculoskeletal trauma, and general trauma imaging using Siemens CT equipment, PACS, and Sectra systems. Charting is completed in Epic.
- No on-call requirement
- May float within scope to sister facilities as needed
- Daily caseload varies per shift and location
- Radiation badge must be provided by the traveler/agency
- Scrub color requirement: teal top and black bottom
- All required time off must be submitted at the time of application
- Facility may cancel up to one shift per two weeks
- During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
Responsibilities
- Perform CT studies including abdomen/pelvis, head/neck, spine/musculoskeletal, and chest
- Contrast media preparation and administration
- Image display and post-processing (3D rendering, MPR, ROI measurement)
- Peripheral IV starts
- Ensure patient safety during procedures and proper PPE use
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols
Requirements
- ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications required
- SC state license and SCRQSA (R)(CT) certification required
- Current BLS certification (AHA only)
- Experience in a Level I Trauma setting (months required) plus 1 year of general experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Siemens CT equipment experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- First-time travelers may be considered if they have relevant clinical experience
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Pay & Schedule
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift: 10 hours, nights (4x10hrs, 20:30-7:00)
- Employment Type: Travel
- Pay package based on 10-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined
