About the role
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift CT Technologist with 1+ years of CT experience and ARRT-R certification for a 13-week travel assignment at a community hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. The role supports the Emergency Department and ICU patient populations on a minimally staffed night shift.
Schedule
- 40 hours per week
- 10-hour night shifts, 20:30 to 07:00
- Monday through Thursday
- Start date: August 31, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging studies including abdomen and pelvis, brain perfusion, vascular CTA, head and neck, spine, musculoskeletal, and chest imaging (including vascular chest studies)
- Conduct 3D rendering, multiplanar reconstruction, and ROI measurement post-processing
- Operate Philips Ingenuity and Siemens Go Top CT scanners along with PACS
- Prepare and administer contrast media
- Perform peripheral IV starts and venipuncture
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and isolation precautions
- May float to other units or campuses based on facility census needs and demonstrated competencies
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent CT Technologist experience
- ARRT-R certification (ARRT-CT preferred)
- BLS certification
- State license (if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR
- Community hospital experience
- Proficiency with Philips and Siemens CT equipment
- Knowledge of contrast media preparation, radiation safety, peripheral IV starts, and venipuncture
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the relevant flagship hospital campus

- Pre-assignment testing and required modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
