About the role
American Traveler is hiring a dual-modality CT/X-Ray Technologist with ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certification and Siemens equipment experience for a specialty orthopedic hospital setting. This 8-week travel assignment starts on August 24, 2026, with a 36-hour work week on an evening shift.
Responsibilities
- Perform both CT scans and X-rays in a specialty orthopedic hospital setting
- Conduct orthopedic exams in exam rooms and via portable equipment
- Serve a patient population including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Manage a daily caseload of up to 20 patients
- Rotate across multiple departments within the hospital or an affiliated private sector location
- Work in outpatient, inpatient, ER, and adult ICU settings
- Perform X-ray procedures including extremities, spine/pelvis, head, chest/thorax, musculoskeletal, upper and lower extremities
- Perform CT procedures including abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, brain perfusion, CTAs, and multiplanar reconstruction
- Lift, push, pull, or move patients and equipment in excess of 150 pounds, with or without assistive devices
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dual X-ray and CT role
- ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certification required
- Active NY state license required at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- IV certification required
- Siemens equipment experience required
- Experience with portable X-ray equipment required
- OR/C-Arm experience preferred
- COVID vaccine required with no exceptions
- Charcoal grey scrubs required
- Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
Schedule
- Evening shift: 3x12 hours from 2:30 PM to midnight, Wednesday through Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch
- First 2 weeks of assignment require training shifts Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 6 PM
- No time off permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- RTO (Return Time Off) must be 5 days or less
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former NYU perm staff must wait 1 year before becoming eligible to return as a traveler
