About the Role

American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience in CT and X-ray modalities for a 13-week day shift contract at a pediatric and adult acute care hospital in Richmond, VA.

Assignment Overview

  • Shift: Days, 3x12hrs (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
  • Hours: 36 hrs/wk
  • Start Date: Aug 17, 2026
  • Length: 13 weeks
  • Openings: 1

Work Settings & Patient Populations

  • CT and X-ray multimodality position within a hospital setting serving both pediatric and adult patient populations
  • Work settings include adult acute care, adult outpatient, and pediatric acute care
  • ED, Level I Trauma, and special procedures experience is preferred

Procedures & Protocols

  • Abdomen/pelvis with and without contrast
  • Chest with and without contrast
  • Head and neck
  • Spine and musculoskeletal (cervical, lumbar, thoracic)
  • Brain perfusion
  • CT arthrography
  • Virtual colonoscopy
  • Transplant studies
  • Image display and post-processing tasks include multiplanar reconstruction (MPR)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in CT and X-ray imaging; 2 years preferred
  • ARRT (R) certification required; ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
  • Current BLS required
  • VA state license or compact state license required if applicable
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Proficiency with abdomen, pelvis, chest, head/neck, and spine CT protocols
  • Experience with preparation and/or administration of contrast media required
  • Peripheral IV insertion experience preferred
  • 2 professional references (supervisor level or above) required for consideration
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • First-time travelers will be considered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Level I Trauma experience preferred
  • BSN preferred; diploma and associates degrees from ACEN- or CCNE-accredited programs accepted
  • Siemens equipment preferred

Additional Information

  • Perform CT and X-ray imaging across a broad range of anatomical regions and clinical indications, including contrast-enhanced and non-contrast studies
  • Candidates who have worked at this facility must have been separated for at least 12 months to be eligible
  • All candidates will complete orientation modules via the facility's online learning platform; modules must be finished by the Friday of orientation week
  • Travelers are not guaranteed holidays off; holiday coverage is expected
  • RTO requests should be submitted upfront; no time off is approved during the first week of the assignment
  • This is a drug- and tobacco-free workplace; smoking is not permitted on campus
  • The facility enforces a natural nail policy
  • Floating within clinical scope may be required
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
  • Fingerprinting is required for ER and Psych candidates per Virginia state law (not applicable to this CT role unless assigned to those areas)
