About the role

Travel CT Technologist position at CJW Medical Center – Swift Creek ER (12‑bed freestanding ER with 7‑bed vertical fast‑track) in Chesterfield, VA. The role involves performing CT and portable X‑ray procedures in a high‑acuity ER setting, working 12‑hour‑shifts of 12 hours nights, 36 hours per week for a 13‑week assignment starting 10/05/2026.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT scans and portable X‑ray examinations on ER patients.
• Work independently, often providing single‑staff coverage for both CT and X‑ray modalities.
• Operate GE Optima CT scanner and GE portable X‑ray equipment.
• Document exams using Meditech and Sectra systems.
• Adhere to hospital policies, including Acute Stroke Ready protocols.
• Maintain professional, friendly communication with patients and staff.
• Follow dress code: grey scrubs.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent hospital experience as a CT Technologist.
• Current Virginia state license or compact license (must be submitted at application).
• Current CPR certification.
• ARRT certification and ARRT‑CT certification.

Skills

• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced ER.
• Proficiency with CT and portable X‑ray equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Meditech and Sectra documentation systems.
• Knowledge of Acute Stroke Ready protocols.
• Comfortable handling moderate pediatric volume.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

12‑hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, weekends and holidays rotate; no on‑call required.
