Responsibilities
- Sell international and domestic travel packages, including cruises, land packages, travel itineraries, air, car, and hotel bookings.
- Share knowledge and expertise from personal experiences and/or educational study trips.
- Develop long-standing relationships with members to build referral and repeat business.
- Make tailored recommendations to exceed members' trip expectations.
- Cross-sell relevant products, such as the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card and identity theft referrals.
- Progress through evaluations in sales, customer service, administrative tasks, operations, up-selling, cross-selling, and goal achievement for potential leadership opportunities.
Requirements
- A high school diploma is required; a 2- or 4-year college degree is preferred.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and urine sample drug screening.
- Two to five years of sales experience in a performance-driven environment, with a proven ability to meet or exceed monthly sales targets.
- Strong closing skills and consistent ownership of revenue goals.
- Computer proficiency, including navigating multiple systems and web browsers, Microsoft Office, and typing at least 30 WPM.
- Comfort with paperwork and strong organizational skills.
- Availability to work most Saturdays and some evenings to support goal achievement.
Qualifications

- Successful completion of AAA’s Travel Consultant Trainee program, which may require travel for training.
Pay
Travel Consultants start at an hourly rate of $23.50. After completing the training program and meeting sales goals, earnings average between $58,500 - $71,600 annually, with uncapped incentive opportunities.
