Responsibilities
- Aid in the implementation of individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.
- Provide therapeutic activities and interventions to enhance patients' functional abilities, mobility, coordination, and independence.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments and progress.
- Communicate treatment outcomes to the Occupational Therapist.
- Instruct patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and proper use of equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current or eligible Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure/certification.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- 0–2 years of experience in occupational therapy or a rehabilitation setting (new graduates encouraged to apply).
