About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Store Manager to assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, maximizing sales, and maintaining high standards of customer service and store presentation at our travel centers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the daily operations of the store to ensure smooth and efficient processes, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations, and maintain store cleanliness and organization.
- Provide exceptional customer service, resolve customer concerns, and promote a customer-focused culture to drive loyalty.
- Train and coach staff on customer service best practices and positive customer interactions.
- Support recruitment, training, and development of store employees, and assist in creating employee schedules.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise, and implement inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage.
- Assist in achieving store sales goals, monitor daily sales performance, and participate in promotional activities.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards, train staff on safety practices, and conduct regular safety inspections.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including inventory counts, scheduling, employee records, and performance reports.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Store Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; previous retail or management experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of inventory management and retail operations.
- Basic understanding of financial principles and operational budgeting.
- Proficient in point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying.
- Capability to lift up to 30-50 pounds as needed.
- Willingness to perform tasks involving physical labor (e.g., stocking shelves, cleaning duties).
