About the Role

The Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist supports cardiology catheterization procedures by preparing the lab and operating essential equipment such as fluoroscopy and digital image acquisition. This role ensures accurate documentation of patient information and hemodynamic measurements while maintaining strict aseptic techniques and patient safety standards. Collaboration with the medical team to optimize patient care and departmental efficiency is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure major equipment is operational and participate in daily room checks.
  • Collaborate with the procedure team to support patient care.
  • Ensure proper documentation of patient information and hemodynamic measurements.
  • Support patient safety during procedures and adhere to aseptic techniques.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and promote a patient-centered, safety-focused environment.
  • Obtain and maintain proficiency in access site management.
  • Support department and organizational initiatives.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology, an associate's degree in a healthcare-related field, or an acceptable equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • State licensure required based on modality (Louisiana: LRT (R) or (F) by LSRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
  • One of the following certifications is preferred:
    • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) by CCI
    • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) by CCI
    • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCIR
    • Radiography (R) by ARRT
    • Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) by ARRT
    • Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) by ARRT
    • Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) by ARRT
    • Abdomen (AB) RDMS by ARDMS
    • Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) RDMS by ARDMS
    • Adult Echocardiography (AE) RDCS by ARDMS
    • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS
  • 0-1 year of experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Schedule

  • Day shift, 7 AM - 3:30 PM
  • 8 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week
