Description

Short-term acute care hospital setting with 244 staffed beds, designated as a Level III Trauma Center.
Diagnostic cardiac cath lab unit
Daily caseload of approximately 12 cases
4x10 hour day shifts, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
On-call required every 4th weekend and 1–2 evenings per week
May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities depending on volume and census
Charting system: Cerner

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, ARRT (R), RCIS (CCI)
  • RCIS (CCI) certification preferred but not required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • State license required if applicable — pending license accepted, but must be active by assignment start

About the Role

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Former staff must have been away from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
Locals are not accepted for this position
RTO is capped at 10 days; if any RTO falls during the holidays, the traveler must be willing to work at least 1 of the 3 major holidays
All required certifications must be obtained prior to start; pending certifications are accepted
Travelers are expected to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start orientation modules, typically averaging 3–8 hours, within 1 week of signing
Core cath lab procedures include left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, Impella insertion, rotablator atherectomy, temporary pacemaker, and carotid stenting
EP procedures include electrophysiology studies, arrhythmia induction, cardioversion, and conduction studies
Preferred advanced skills include cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, AICD insertion/programming, pacemaker insertion (permanent), TAVR, Watchman, LAA closure, ASD closure, and thrombolysis/thrombectomy
Additional vascular and procedural responsibilities may include renal artery stent placement, ureteral stent placement, abdominal/pelvic stenting, and neurological stent/thrombolysis procedures
Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, EKG lead placement, and scrubbing to maintain a sterile field
2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Pay

Pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
