Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with strong intervention/STEMI experience and scrub experience with TAVR, Watchman, and Ablations for a short-term acute care hospital.

Details

  • Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab setting
  • Short-term acute care hospital setting
  • 4x10 hour day shifts, alternating between 0730-1800 and 0630-1700
  • On-call required, 10-12 call shifts per month with a 30-minute response time
  • Call shifts last 12-14 hours and begin at shift completion, or at 5pm on non-working call days
  • Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
  • Uses Cerner for charting
  • Uses Siemens equipment
  • Performs cardiac cath lab procedures including diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, rotablator atherectomy, temporary and permanent pacemaker insertion, TAVR, and Watchman
  • Performs EP studies including arrhythmia induction, cardiac mapping, cardiac ablation, AICD insertion/programming, and LAA closure
  • Performs vascular studies/procedures including angioplasty, carotid stenting, and upper/lower extremity angiography

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience required, 2+ years preferred
  • ARRT(R), ACLS, and BLS certifications required (AHA and RQI accepted)
  • License required if applicable
  • State license must be in hand prior to start date, though a temporary license may be obtainable once a permanent license application is submitted
  • Pending state license accepted as long as application has been submitted
  • Strong experience with intervention and performing STEMI procedures required
  • Scrub experience with TAVR, Watchman, and Ablations required
  • Proficiency with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
  • Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and equipment set up
  • Ability to accurately monitor and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Must be able to prep access sites and maintain a sterile field while scrubbing
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • 2 supervisor references required

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Local candidates are accepted, with Indiana residents considered local
  • Must work 1 winter holiday and 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
  • Any current or former IU Health perm/PRN employee must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler
  • Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a designated break to reset eligibility, effective 2/24/26
  • Out-of-state residents require a 3-month break and in-state residents require a 6-month break to reset travel eligibility prior to the one-year mark
  • Free parking provided
