About the role
The Interventional Specialist in the Catheterization Lab assists cardiologists with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, electrophysiology (EP) studies, and radiofrequency (RF) ablations on diverse patient populations, including newborns, children, and adults with congenital heart disease.
Responsibilities
- Assist interventional cardiologists by scrubbing into procedures as a sterile scrub assistant and managing x-ray equipment.
- Scrub, circulate, and monitor diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures and EP ablation procedures.
- Monitor invasive cardiac waveforms and pressure gradients during procedures, communicating patients' vital signs and EKG data.
- Order and maintain par levels of equipment and perform general troubleshooting as necessary.
- Fulfill other duties as required to support departmental operations.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of a radiologic technology program is required.
- A.R.R.T. Radiography registry with current ODH licensure is required.
- BLS certification is required; ACLS and PALS certifications are required or must be obtained within one year.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience with pediatric/adult congenital conditions and sterile techniques is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
Schedule
This is a 4x8-hour day shift position from 07:00 AM to 03:30 PM, 40 hours per week.
