About the role

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with at least 1 year of experience in cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures for a short-term acute care hospital setting in Olympia, Washington.

Work in the Cardiac Cath Lab department of a short-term acute care hospital with 325 staffed beds. This is a 13-week travel assignment starting August 24, 2026, with 40 hours per week on a 4x10-hour day shift schedule (6:30 AM to 5:00 PM).

Responsibilities

  • Perform all diagnostic procedures including PCI (stents, balloon angioplasty, laser, rotablator, Impella, IABP, CTO).
  • Perform structural heart procedures including TAVR, balloon valvuloplasty, and Watchman.
  • Perform electrophysiology procedures including EPS, Afib/flutter ablations, and BIV and pacemaker implants.
  • Accurate patient monitoring, EKG lead placement, and maintaining sterile fields during procedures.
  • Perform electrophysiology studies including arrhythmia induction, cardiac mapping, ablation, and AICD insertion/programming.
  • Perform cardiac cath lab procedures including stent placement, Impella insertion, and rotablator atherectomy.
  • On-call requirement of 1 call day per week and one weekend every 5-6 weeks.
  • May be required to float between sister facilities.
  • Use Epic charting system.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Cath Lab setting required.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • ARRT-R or CCI RCIS certification required (not both).
  • WA state RT license or CIS license required (not both).
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience required.
  • Rhythm interpretation skills preferred.
  • Experience with room circulator and sterile field scrub duties.
  • Skilled in EKG lead placement, arrhythmia induction, cardiac mapping, and cardioversion.
  • Experience with left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy.
  • Experience with temporary pacemaker insertion and TAVR/Watchman procedures preferred.
  • Coil embolization experience preferred.
  • Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
  • All requested time off must be submitted upfront during the application process.
  • Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required.

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
  • Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel contract.
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel contractor and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.

Schedule

  • 4x10-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • 13-week assignment starting August 24, 2026.
