About the role

Very busy lab; must be willing to stay until all cases are completed, take call, and maintain flexible scheduling. Schedule consists of 3x12-hour days (08:30–20:30) with 1 weekend shift per month (Friday evening to Monday morning every 4–5 weeks).

Schedule

  • 35 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts
  • 1 weekend shift per month (Friday 19:00 – Monday 06:30 every 4–5 weeks)
  • Call requirements:
    • 2 weekday nights per week (19:00–06:30)
    • Weekend call every 4–5 weeks (Friday 19:00 – Monday 06:30)
    • Two call teams rotate every 12 hours between 1st and 2nd call
    • May include holiday call if it falls on scheduled shift

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of diagnostic and interventional Cath Lab procedures, including structural cardiology
  • Procedures include: LHC, RHC, PCI, CTO, Impella, IABP, ECMO, TPM, shock wave, IVUS, Pneumbra, TAVR, Watchman, mitral and tricuspid valve interventions (starting October)
  • Operate specialized equipment: Siemens Artiz Z & Q, Impella, IABP, Philips Volcano IVUS, BSC IVUS, Abbott CTO devices, Shockwave
  • Document in Cerner EHR
  • Average daily census: 35–45 patients with 1:1 staffing ratio

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience (competency in all diagnostic, interventional, and structural procedures required)
  • Active ARRT(BD) and ARRT(R) certifications
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Active West Virginia state license (pending license accepted for submission, but must be active by start date)
  • Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
  • RCIS or RCES credentials are not accepted (WV does not recognize RCIS for Cath Lab licensure)
