About the role

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Kingsport, Tennessee. The role requires at least 1 year of experience and the ability to scrub EP devices and complex interventional cases.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab.
  • Perform both diagnostic and complex interventional cardiac cases, with EP experience preferred and structural heart experience a plus.
  • Scrub EP devices including pacemakers, ICDs, and Micras.
  • Use Siemens Sensis/Epic and Philips systems.
  • Interpret dysrhythmias and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias.
  • Serve in scrub and circulator roles, maintaining sterile field and infection control/isolation precautions.
  • Perform diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, rotablator atherectomy, and cardiac stent and closure device placement.
  • Care for middle adult and older adult patient populations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a cardiac cath lab setting.
  • Current ACLS, BLS, ARRT (R), and CCI RCIS certifications required (AHA certifications only accepted).
  • License required if applicable and must be active and in-hand at time of consideration.
  • BSN required for international travelers.
  • Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines.
  • First-time travelers are not accepted.
  • Must reside 100 miles or more from the facility (local candidates are not accepted).

Schedule

  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Call requirement of 1 to 2 nights per week and 2 weekends within a 6-week period.
  • Start Date: September 20, 2026.
  • Duration: 13 weeks.

Additional Information

  • General orientation begins on Mondays, with the first day consisting of online computer-based learning modules.
  • Orientation modules are non-billable, averaging 4-5 hours, and completed via electronic transcripts.
  • Candidates must be willing to complete a drug test within 12-14 calendar days prior to start and avoid scheduling other engagements during this window.
  • Candidates should be prepared to repeat lab testing a second time if needed.
