Position Overview
Department: Cath Lab & IR (Cost Center 133)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Call Required: Weekdays: 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend Call: Saturday & Sunday 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
Holidays covered through call rotation
Submission Requirements
Only one submission per candidate across the entire WVU Health System
Candidate's Driver's License address must be more than 50 miles from the facility
Previous permanent employees: Must be separated for 2 years
Previous travelers who completed 1 full year: Must also be away for 2 years
Travel teams must be submitted together in one email
Agency may submit only 2 candidates per opening
Any background issues must be disclosed at submission
Unexpired Driver's License is mandatory
COVID-19 vaccination required
Fully vaccinated = Pfizer/Moderna series or one J&J dose

Holding Area: 2 bays, 5 rooms
Average Cases: 4–5/day (range 2–9)
Patient Population: Adult cardiac patients only
Common Procedures: Diagnostic heart caths, PCIs, Peripheral vascular procedures, Pacemakers, ICDs, Structural cardiac procedures, No EP ablations
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience
Experience with: Cardiac catheterization, PCIs, Pacemakers, ICDs, Peripheral interventions
Preferred Skills: IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) experience – Required, IVUS experience – Required, Familiarity with ACIST injector (preferred; training available)
Required Certifications: RNBLSACLSEMR & Equipment, Epic (Cupid), Xper Dynamics, Omnicell, Philips bedside telemetry
Staffing: 3-person Cath Lab team, 2 RNs, 1 Tech, Charge nurse functions as a resource but also performs cases, Floating
May float to Non-Invasive Cardiology to assist with: IV starts, Cardiac procedures within scope
Orientation: 2 shifts with a preceptor, Followed by a supervised "buddy call"
