Responsibilities
- Observes, evaluates, and coordinates the care given to patients in the Special Procedures department.
- Participates in direct and indirect care of all related activities according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and mission of the organization.
- Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues.
- Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.
- Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes.
- Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation.
- Connects electrocardiogram (EKG) leads and alerts doctor of any changes in patient condition.
- Records, analyzes hemodynamic parameters, and calculates shunt and valves and other data.
- Monitors patient, analyzes electrocardiogram (EKG) and hemodynamic parameter, and reports to physician any changes in patient's condition.
- Operates computerized MIDAS system with accuracy and evaluates and reports significant data and findings throughout all procedures for all patients of various age groups.
- Operates other specialized equipment: Datascope Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Baxter Cardiac Output, Automated Coagulation Timer (ACT) machine, American Optical Unistat Oximeter, Medrad injector, Life Pak Defibrillator, Sony digital systems, GE Advantx X-ray system.
- Collaborates with the team of patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.
- Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members.
- Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Nurses float to the CV holding (Pre-op/Post-op).
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS OR HS-ACLS OR RQIACLS) certification: Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS): Required
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS): Required
- Advanced Electrocardiogram (EKG) certification: Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
- Registered Nurse experience with critical care experience or medical-surgical or experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab/Special Procedure department: Preferred
Schedule
- Variable shift - Monday through Friday start at 7am, 8am, or 9am (staggered shifts).
- Call schedule - anything after hours, 1 or 2 days a week, and 1 or 2 weekends a month (every other weekend).
Pay
Pay Rate: $2861.00 - $3008.00
