Travel Cath Lab RN - $2,802 per week

About the role

Travel RN position in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. The facility is recognized for patient safety and advanced cardiac care, featuring leading‑edge technology and a collaborative environment for cardiovascular procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiologists and cardiovascular physicians with catheter‑based cardiac and vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Monitor patients during procedures and manage equipment such as balloon pumps, Impella, IVUS, iFR/FFR, TAVR, PFO closures, Watchman, EKO’s, atherectomy devices (CSI, RotaPro, laser), angiography, and balloon/stenting.
• Document patient care using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Operate and support GE and Siemens cath lab equipment across multiple rooms (Cath, Vascular, EP, hybrid).
• Perform up to 4‑8 catheterizations per day, with occasional higher volumes as needed.

Requirements

• Active Virginia RN license (compact accepted).
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year recent experience in a cardiac cath lab or cardiovascular nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• CERT‑NIH Stroke Scale certification.
• Social Security Number and date of birth required for credentialing.
• At least one professional reference covering the entire work history.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with 3‑4 cath lab rooms (Cath, Vascular, EP, hybrid).
• Familiarity with GE and Siemens cath lab equipment.
• Ability to handle a range of procedures, including diagnostic, interventional, TAVR, PFO closures, Watchman, atherectomy, and advanced imaging.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, adaptability, and proficiency with EMR systems.

Rate: $2,732.00 – $2,872.00 (based on 8‑hour shifts, 40 hours per week). Tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
