About the role
TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in Alexandria, Louisiana. The assignment is for 13 weeks, 40 hours per week on 8‑hour day shifts, with immediate availability. Candidates should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience. TotalMed RN is a Top Ten travel nursing and healthcare staffing agency that places nurses, therapists, pharmacists, and other clinicians across all 50 states, focusing on matching highly‑skilled staff with facilities to ensure adequate staffing and a better patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor EKG equipment
- Assist physicians during angioplasty, cardiac catheterization, and electrophysiology procedures
- Learn complex technologies effectively
- Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization for diagnosis or treatment
- Assist with angioplasties, valvuloplasties, and stent placements
- Help implant pacemakers and implantable cardioverter‑defibrillators (ICDs)
Requirements
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- 1‑2 years recent acute care experience
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
- Ability to lift 20 pounds routinely; patient moving/lifting may require up to 50 pounds
- Good stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment
