Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Chico, California. The Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) provides specialized medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical care to patients classified as medium to high acuity. The unit features 30 beds, serving young adult to geriatric patients. Typical cases include various cardiac diagnoses, pre/post cardiac artery bypass surgery, carotid endarterectomy, acute myocardial infarction (MI), post pacemaker insertion, arrhythmia detection, congestive heart failure (CHF), pneumonia, and related conditions.

Responsibilities

• Administer high-level nursing care to patients with complex medical needs.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in acuity.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout the care process.
• Collaborate with medical staff for comprehensive treatment planning.
• Participate in patient and family education regarding health management.
• May float to other units, including Med/Surg, as needed.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in California.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Experience with EPIC charting.
• Minimum of 2 years of Critical Care experience.
• Successful completion of prior travel assignments.

Schedule

• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours per week: 36 hours
• Shift: 12‑hour day shifts, 07:00 start time
• Holiday coverage may be required
