About the Role

Deliver exceptional patient care to adult and geriatric populations, ensuring safety, comfort, and high-quality outcomes throughout all cardiovascular procedures at Prime Healthcare St Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic support, addressing the physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs of patients in a surgical and procedural environment.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, offering continuous updates and timely communication regarding patient status before, during, and after procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain procedure rooms, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, calibrated, and ready for use.
  • Manage supplies and inventory, gathering case-specific materials and making sure the Cath Lab team has everything required for efficient workflow.
  • Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring accurate interpretation and rapid response to changes.
  • Continuously assess and document patient condition while they are in the Cardiovascular Lab, maintaining thorough and precise records.
  • Support quality initiatives, participating in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities to enhance patient care and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • At least one year of hands-on clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab with cardiac procedures, or in a Critical Care environment, is required.
  • Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required.
  • Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred.
  • One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.

Schedule

  • Days, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m with a 30-minute on call response time requirement
  • 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
  • Duration: 12 weeks
