About the role

Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) specialist in a community hospital setting. This role involves administering and monitoring conscious sedation, assessing and monitoring patients' clinical status, and possessing theoretical and practical knowledge of medications used in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures. The position requires effective communication with the patient care team, patients, and families, and adherence to radiation safety, infection control, and hemodynamic support protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor conscious sedation
  • Assess and monitor patients' clinical status
  • Apply theoretical and practical knowledge of medications used in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures
  • Communicate effectively with the patient care team, patients, and families
  • Adhere to radiation safety, infection control, and hemodynamic support protocols

Schedule

  • Days shift, 0700-1730
  • Minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Weekend coverage by call approximately every 4th weekend from Friday at 1700 to Monday at 0700
  • Weekday call once per week from end of shift until 0700 the next morning

Requirements

  • Valid licensure and certifications including BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • Minimum of 0 years of experience in the field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in administering and monitoring conscious sedation
  • Assessment and monitoring of clinical status
  • Knowledge of medications used in cardiac cath procedures

Additional Information

  • Non-profit community hospital with two Cath Lab procedure rooms and five holding bays for patient pre/post care
