Magnet Medical is seeking a travel Ultrasound Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Denver, Colorado. This role involves performing medical imaging procedures using ultrasound equipment to create diagnostic images or videos of patients' internal structures.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Procedure Preparation:
  • Review patient medical history and physician orders to ensure the correct ultrasound procedure is performed.
  • Prepare and adjust ultrasound equipment for the procedure.
  • Explain the procedure to patients, address questions or concerns, and confirm patient identity and documentation.
• Conducting Ultrasound Scans:
  • Position patients to capture clear, high-quality images.
  • Apply conductive gel and operate ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings for optimal imaging.
  • Use a transducer to capture images or videos of organs, tissues, blood flow, or fetuses.
• Patient Safety and Comfort:
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, providing reassurance and monitoring for distress.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment, adhering to infection control standards.
• Image Analysis and Reporting:
  • Capture diagnostic-quality images and review them for clarity and completeness.
  • Provide preliminary findings to physicians while adhering to professional guidelines.
  • Label and store images in the electronic health record (EHR) or PACS system.
• Post-Procedure Care:
  • Assist patients after the procedure, ensuring they are stable and comfortable.
  • Provide aftercare instructions and advise patients on follow-up steps.
• Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Inspect and maintain ultrasound equipment, performing basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize the ultrasound probe between patients.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient information, and images.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Collaboration with Medical Team:
  • Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and healthcare professionals to provide accurate imaging.
  • Communicate findings and assist in preparing reports for medical records.
• Professional Development and Training:
  • Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology.
  • Maintain certifications such as RDMS and BLS.
  • Assist in training new sonographers or students.

Requirements

• Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to make patients feel comfortable during procedures.
• Certifications: RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Schedule

• Duration: 13 weeks.
• 40 hours per week.
• Shift: 8 hours, days.

Pay

Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week, including a tax-free stipend (amount to be determined).
