Join a team of 6 Physicians and 12 APPs. Work 15 shifts per month, consisting of 12 days and 3 nights. Have 1 clinic day per week. Receive full scope of Trauma role including OR, rounding, clinic, and critical care. Robotics is incorporated into acute care surgery. Manage 16-bed CSICU with co-management from Pulmonary and Critical Care.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $504,797
• Recruitment Incentive: $150,000
• Moving allowance up to $15,000
• Annual CME allowance of $6,000

About the Role

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, established in 1893, is a Level II Trauma and Primary Stroke Center. It is one of Iowa’s largest full-service multi-specialty hospitals with 875 beds and more than 800 physicians across 30 specialties. The center offers specialized services including Emergency and Trauma Care, Heart and Vascular Care, Cancer Care, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Surgery and Rehabilitation. MercyOne Des Moines Trauma Center is committed to trauma care innovation in Central Iowa.

Qualifications

Fellowship-trained Trauma Surgeon with a comprehensive scope of emergency general services, trauma care, and acute surgical services. Must have experience in a fast-paced environment and be able to work 15 shifts per month, including 12 days and 3 nights. Must also have experience in managing 16-bed CSICU with co-management from Pulmonary and Critical Care.

Skills

Must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in EMR systems such as EPIC is preferred.
